Meet Terry Hopkins

Terry Hopkins has been a member of the UK Devon Club since 1997; was President of the club for two years, served an additional year in 2006, a FF Devon Committee member for nine years, a member of the European Advisory Committee for five years and was elected to the Board of Directors in January 2005. He has been Exchange Director for seven Outbound exchanges and three Inbound exchanges.
Born in Portsmouth, UK, Terry attended the Portsmouth Northern Grammar School for Boys and was an engineering apprentice with the Royal Naval Dockyard, Portsmouth. He joined the Merchant (Navy) Marine and finished his service as Chief Engineer on large ocean going passenger and cruise liners in 1969. Terry became a Ship and Engineer Surveyor with an International Shipping register and retired in 1997 as a Principal Surveyor.
When he isn’t travelling, Terry enjoys golf and DIY, mostly for the kids, but when he gets the chance - mostly golf! He is a dedicated Europhile. Terry is married to Jean. They have five children and six grandchildren.
