Donna Lambeth - FFI Board, Chair - Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Donna’s history with The Friendship Force goes back to the very earliest exchanges. As an active volunteer community leader, Donna was among the large contingent of North Carolinians invited by the then First Lady of North Carolina to make the 1979 N.C. charter exchange to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Donna was a co-founder of The Friendship Force of Winston-Salem, N.C. in 1980, and has been an Exchange Director for many, many community, state and national exchanges to Germany, U.K., China, Russia, New Zealand, Jordan, Israel, Turkey and South Africa. She has served as an officer of the local club, Chair of the USA Festival of 1988, and has been named USA M.B. Seretean Volunteer of the Year.

Donna is retired as Executive Director of a private, non-profit agency, and was formerly Administrative Assistant to the Mayor of Winston-Salem. She is the recipient of the Ross Award for Outstanding Community Leadership in Winston-Salem and The Strong, Smart & Bold Award of The Salvation Army Girls’ Club. She is a member of the Junior League of Winston-Salem, The Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Advisory Board of the North Carolina Center for International Understanding of the University of North Carolina, the Central N.C. Friendship Force Club, and a former member of Leadership Winston-Salem, the Winston-Salem Rotary Club, and the Forsyth County Partnership for Children. Donna is active in her church and the Democratic Party. She has served as chair of The Salvation Army Advisory Board and as president of the N.C. Child Care Resource & Referral Network.

Donna graduated from the University of N.C. at Chapel Hill. She is married to Tom Lambeth, Senior Fellow of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. They have two children and three grandchildren.

Donna is a classically trained pianist, and enjoys musical activities, reading, and community activities.
