| Meet Bernard "Mac" Mackenzie
Bernard "Mac" Mackenzie - FFI Board Member"Mac" Mackenzie has been a member of Friendship Force International for nine years and has held all club officer positions, including the Presidency of The Friendship Force of Dallas, Texas when the International Conference was held there in 2002. However, it is Mac's unique international background which provides another element of balance to the Board of Trustees membership. Dealing with people of many nationalities, culture and religions was very much part of Mac's everyday life. Born and mostly educated in England, he spent three years as the sole European attending a boarding school in Sri Lanka before its independence from Britain. As a geophysicist, he worked in North Africa for thirteen years including the period of the coup when Colonel Qadafi seized power in Libya. An immigrant to the USA in 1970, Mac was employed by Mobil Oil in a worldwide search for oil and gas. In this profession, he accepted long term assignments in Europe and Indonesia. He also spent extended periods in Australia, Madagascar, East and West Africa, Vietnam and Turkey. His whole career dealt with international operations where he handled all facets of these activities with multi-million dollar budgets. Mac is married to Gaby and has two children. |
